FILM THREAT SELECTS "THE HALFWAY HOUSE"
FOR 1ST ANNUAL HORROR, SCI-FI, & FANTASY FESTIVAL
October 16, 2004

Throughout the year, we've been continually asked when we would have a screening in Los Angeles. Therefore, we were delighted to be invited by Film Threat to participate in the Hollywood Horror, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy Film Festival, which they were co-sponsoring with the Hollywood Film Festival. It was truly an honor to be one of only two feature films to be shown. (The other was the hysterical zombie-musical DEAD AND BREAKFAST.) If that wasn't enough, the screening was to be held in a prime time slot (Saturday at 9 PM) at the Arclight Cinema, a state-of-the-art entertainment complex adjoining the historic Cinerama Dome on Sunset Boulevard.
To promote the event, we had some of our sexy Halfway House girls handing out invitations to theatre-goers before the show. The evening began with Film Threat founder Chris Gore presentating a lifetime achievement award to Don Coscarelli, creator of the PHANTASM series and, more recently, the cult hit BUBBA HO-TEP. The audience was treated to a brief retrospective of Don's work and a surprise appearance by Tall Man actor Angus Scrimm.

After the presentation, THE HALFWAY HOUSE played for a group of cast, crew, family, friends, industry professionals, and fans - numbering over 300 strong! We can't vouch for everyone there but from the mixture of laughter, screams, and applause, it sounded like most people had a good time.

After the screening, the crowd poured into the Arclight's Patio Bar to mingle and celebrate. Lynda Williams led everyone in a toast to writer/director Kenneth J. Hall, whose birthday came at the stroke of midnight. Some die-hard partiers moved the festivities over to Residuals in Studio City before last call.

Everyone at BV Entertainment wants to thank Chris Gore and Eric Campos at Film Threat for their ongoing support and coverage from the very beginning.
